A National Voice on Fiduciary Practice

The Fiduciary Institute is building the national standard for professional fiduciary training, practice systems, and credentialing. Its sessions bring that same standards-driven perspective to the stage: structured, practice-based, and grounded in active fiduciary work rather than theory.

Sessions are led by Junel Unrein, NCG, founder of The Fiduciary Institute, an active professional fiduciary, and the creator of The Fiduciary Method™, a national framework for consistent, defensible practice across fiduciary roles and jurisdictions. She presents from the intersection of two decades in organizational development and financial services and direct, current fiduciary practice, which gives her sessions a rare combination: the systems thinking to make complex professional judgment teachable, and the active casework to keep it real.

The result is content an audience can use. Every session is built to leave practitioners and allied professionals with something repeatable, not just informed.

Who These Sessions Serve

The Fiduciary Institute develops and delivers sessions for a range of professional audiences:

Professional fiduciaries and the associations that serve them. Practice-focused sessions on ethical decision-making, documentation, risk management, and the craft of defensible practice across roles. Suitable for state guardianship and fiduciary association programs, regional convenings, and national conference sessions.

Allied professionals who work alongside fiduciaries. Attorneys, financial advisors and CPAs, care managers, social workers, daily money managers, and professional organizers. Sessions on role clarity, inter-professional collaboration, recognizing when a client needs fiduciary support, and protecting both the client and the professional relationship.

Mixed and cross-disciplinary audiences. Convenings where fiduciaries and the professionals around them are in the same room, where shared language and clear boundaries are exactly the point.

Now Expanding to National Conference
and Association Programs

The Institute is actively developing sessions for national fiduciary and elder-law conferences and for state professional association programs. Event chairs, program committees, and conference producers building agendas in this space are invited to reach out using the form below. Custom sessions for a specific audience or theme are welcome.

Session Topics

Sessions are tailored to the audience and the program. Core topics include:

Deciding for Others: Ethical Decision-Making and The Fiduciary Method™: How the power imbalance at the center of fiduciary work raises the standard for ethical decision-making, and how a structured method turns ethics from good intentions into a repeatable, defensible discipline. Designed for practitioner audiences; eligible for ethics continuing education where applicable.

Professional Fiduciaries Explained: What fiduciaries do, how they differ from financial fiduciaries, and when a client may benefit from fiduciary involvement.

Working Effectively With Professional Fiduciaries: Role clarity, communication strategies, and collaboration frameworks for shared cases.

Recognizing When a Client Needs Fiduciary Support: Practical indicators and ethical considerations for referral.

Protecting Clients and Protecting Yourself: Professional boundaries, documentation, and ethical risk reduction when working with vulnerable populations.

Custom topics: Have a specific theme or audience need? Note it in your request and a session will be developed for your group.
